Corn Flour for the White Bread

A little boy walked down the street one day.
Gazing at the freshly baked white bread.
Rubbing his jeans pocket,
he got only a penny.
Sadly, he walked away.
Wanting to have a taste of it,
he thought of making it himself.

He went to the market.
Such a lucky boy.
A sack of flour for a penny.
Not being knowledgeable with dough-making,
he got himself a tiny sack of corn flour.

The person asked, "What are you going to do with it?"
"Baked a bread", said the boy.
"No, you can't. It is not the correct flour for baking."
"Why not? All flour looks the same. As promising as the other flour!"

He walked home happily.
Thinking that he will have a white bread later!
He spent hours, days, as long as it took,
yet failed.

By then, 'will' became 'might'.

Such an optimist kid.
Thinking that he might have a white bread baked
if he asked the dough master.
Spent days, years, as long as it took,
and came into realization,
that corn flour wasn't meant for baking bread.

By then, the boy has became a man.

He walked down that street again.
The same street that he walked years ago.
Gazed into that same bakery,
locked his eyes into that freshly baked white bread.
Without thinking twice he went in.
Bought himself that white bread.
That white bread he could never had while he was a boy.

Could have that white bread,
why would he want the flour anymore?
Why would he get into all those trouble of dough-making?
While he can have that white bread,
all that he ever wanted?

Besides, corn flour wasn't for baking a bread.
If he wants to bake, he will get a baking flour.
